The first day back to school after Christmas vacation is the strongest argument ever seen for year-round schooling. It has been a morning of finding pencils and locating erasers, trying to remember where we left off and how to get up and dressed on time. In short, it has been a morning of a frustrated me trying very hard not to scream like a maniac at a teary-eyed them.
Who thought of this whole "take some time off for Christmas in the middle of the school year" thing? If I ever find out, I'm climbing up into my Way-Back Machine and kicking someone's a....
In case I'm being unclear about my feelings here, vacations are a bad, bad idea. I'm inclined to include weekends in that since Mondays are no fun for me either. They're simply today in miniature. In fact, sleeping at night gets them out of their routine too....I think it should be abolished in favor of all school all the time. It would build a better work ethic and we would be done with this whole educational exercise much more quickly than those crazy hippies who take time off for such useless things as lunch. Seriously, who need to eat in the middle of the day? Glass of water, crust of bread and then back to work you slacker.
On the other hand, it could just be that I'm hormonal and short tempered and my children are saints for putting up with the lunatic that is their mother......nah!
Are you still reading this? Get back to work!

We're easing back in verrrry sloooowwwwly. I still have the decorations up, although those will begin coming down today, bit by bit. And then hauled to storage. :-(
As the decorations come down, the schoolwork will crank back up. We're also trying to tidy up after 2+ wks of time off and too much free time... :-(
We had our first co-op of the New Year yesterday, which made a nice segue into starting school again today...
GL! And sorry about the hormones, but its a good thing ;-)
I do remember those days. What was the worst was that I was sorely tempted to take a year round holiday.
LOL! I have had those same thoughts many times before. For some strange reason re-entry went okay for us this time, but check back in with me on Monday. :-)
Can relate so well!
LOL!!!
Take another break!

Peace Mama.
